Hey Trick-again, I'm sorry this is taking so long! It will be worth the wait, I just got the mixes of the tunes Dennis Chambers
plays on back and it's ridiculous. I had Joel Hamilton (Soulive, Elvis Costello, Mike Patton, Bernie Worrell, Ludacris) mix this
part of the album. He's a indie rock/creative music engineer out of Brooklyn and his take on this was just great. I hope to
be able to get around more once this album is out and possibly interact with the musicians you mentioned before when things
get going.

Paul - Somehow I didn't get your response until now. It was nice to hear from you and find out a little about your Cirque experience. Another music friend, and I believe you may be aware of him, Jarrod Kaplan is on tour with them right now. I plan to catch him when they play the Bay Area in a few months. I have enjoyed reading your continuing blogs, but I confess I have not gotten your new CD yet. Something to look forward too soon! You are right, the Bay Area scene is always changing, but that is usually a good thing. I was thinking back to when you did a guest thing with Karl Denson at HSMF. I am still in touch with him and he is always changing his settings. When caught up with him in Seattle at Bumbershoot he told me that he is doing a trio thing, but intends to get Tiny Universe restarted too. I would be very excited if you two could ever get a collaboration going again, if but briefly. It was very fun when it happened! I will be interested how things go with your new group and I will keep my ears ( and eyes open) for more about you. Thanks for getting back to me. If you ever want to contact me outside of this my email is grapevyne@mlode.com. Trick

Hey there-thanks! Someone's out there! Sorry this is taking so long! Next time I will do something a bit less ambitious-like a purely live album or live in the studio.
That being said-I can't wait for this to be out. The delay is (outside of Haroun's knee surgery) is due to
one of us being busy with something else and we don't have time to get into the studio.

Hey Paul,
Glad to hear it's moving along. I was talking to someone about you the other day, Dave Watts of the Motet and I began wondering how it was coming along. Mic Gillette eh? That's cool stuff. I last saw him when he was playing with the Sons of Champlin a few years ago, but remember his Tower of Power and Cold Blood days in particular. Also working with Eric and Kai, they're great. I caught up with Jessica Lurie recently. You should still trying to hook up with her one of these days. Looking forward to the results of all your work!

Hey Trick-thanks for staying in touch. It's been a long time since I've played with Jack, at High Sierra, and with Joel Harrison.
Good for you taking classes at the SFSU Extended. It's a smart thing in this climate. It doesn't say in the blog that I was
on tour Nov. 2005 to Dec. 2006 (or does it?) but that's when i was gone and playing with Cirque. That was a fantastic year that probably
will be my only involvement with them since I can't imagine it getting any better than that. If I ever get some gigs in town-just starting to work on that and could have something on the website soon-I'll let you know as I really look forward to getting involved around here.
A lot of people (like Todd) have moved away and there's not as many people I know to play with. Hope to remedy that! Thanks again and talk to you soon.

Hey Paul,
I finally decided to track you down after Todd Sickafoose had told me you were with Cirque du Soleil down in South America. Hmmmm. I saw him in Berkeley with Jessica Lurie a few months ago. Now that he lives in New York he plays with her fairly frequently and they both happened to be out west. As for you I am excited about what you are doing and will try to keep up with it now. Just a reminder about me. We have run into each other occasionally and I have always enjoyed your work. The first time was with Jack Perla in Carmel, then High Sierra Music Festival when you were with Bela and the last time was probably with Joel Harrison in Berkeley. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that one of your fans is back in contact and I hope to catch you some time. Glad to hear you have some work going on at Forrest's Music. I am currently taking some classes at the Music and Recording Industry program at SFSU Extended Learning, primarily in the business field. It has been enlightening. Take care, Trick
