Getting ready to record
Yep-getting reeds together and working on being myself. That's sometimes easier said than done. It's so much easier sometimes when you aren't the leader to just let the music pour out your pores. A lot of stuff's been happening-I'm dealing with balancing the needs of the album with the needs of living right and being a good dad. I don't have long to stay up late as all get out anymore because I always wake up at the same time every morning. I love writing late or working on album-related stuff-but I can get mighty wired and have insomnia that will prevent me from falling asleep. I'm trying to work on the balance as always. There's so much non-musical work that goes into a project-and I have to be careful to get it done at the same time be there for my wife Cynthia and my kids Bella and Zach. They're the greatest! About the music-I'm working on getting some personnel together. I will let you all know what happens on that front. Actually-I can tell you-have I already told you? No I haven't on these tunes which are being done somewhat all over the place at different times. Tracy Silverman-the incredible violinist from Turtle Island in the 90's and who's played as soloist with John Adam's electric violin concerto with the L. A. Phil and other groups. He will be on violin. Armen Chakmakian-fresh from having to listen to me all night with SALTIMBANCO will play some keyboards. Caito Marcondes (we played a duo concert in Sao Paulo) will play some percussion in Brasil. Victor Little-fresh from Brides of Funkenstein and Booker T. will lay some bass-and Haroun our mysterious producer will lay a little guitar (not actually a LITTLE guitar physically but some sounds will come out and be put upon the project). Sorry for the late humor-see what happens when I stay up too late!? (These guests-their websites will be here later).
